On Monday morning cyclone tauktae further escalated as an extremely severe cyclone category with wind speed 180-190kms/hour and it currently rages past the Maharashtra coast and has come closer to Mumbai. The cyclone is most likely to hit the Gujarat coast between Porbandar and mahuva in Bhavnagar district today on 17 May between 8 pm-11 pm as a severe cyclone with a speed of 150-160 km/hr. Goa and Maharashtra along with other places reported heavy rainfall during the intervening night of Sunday and Monday.
