Covid-19 caused 115,736 new cases: the highest number ever reported

On Tuesday, India recorded 115,736 new cases of the novel coronavirus, the highest number so far. Maharashtra reported 55,469 cases, while Chhattisgarh reported 9,921 cases, a new record. More than 5,000 cases were registered in Karnataka, Uttar Pradesh, and Delhi, respectively. The total number of cases in India is now 1,28,01,785, with 8,43,473 active cases and 1,17,92,135 people who have recovered from the virus. On Tuesday, at least 630 people died, bringing the total death toll in the world to 1,66,177. Maharashtra accounted for nearly half of the deaths (297) on Tuesday. PM Narendra Modi will meet CMs on April 8 to discuss the covid surge 

PM Narendra Modi will meet the CMs of all states on Thursday, April 8, to discuss the constant increase in a surge of covid-19 countrywide. India is observing the covid cases are increasing rapidly.  As of Monday, India reported one lakh new cases and became the second country after the US to report six times new cases in a day.   Hence, keeping the view of the drastic rise in covid infection, the prime minister will meet CMs of all states to discuss the current covid-19 situation and vaccination progress, as per the PTI sources quoted. After Maharashtra, Punjab met night curfew amid elevation of covid-19 

Punjab came up with a high number of covid-19 cases after Maharashtra and Kerala. This condition has forced the Punjab government to take immediate action.  As an action, the Punjab government-imposed night curfews in four districts on Friday and closed all schools amid the covid-19 outbreak in the state, according to the officials.
