Govardhan Puja is the main festival of Hinduism. Celebrated on the fourth day of Diwali. It is also known as Annakout Puja in the various parts of India. This puja was performed to mark the victory of Lord Krishna over Lord Indra. It recall the incident where Lord Krishna lifted the Govardhan hill to provide shelters to villagers from the heavy flow of rain. With his one finger Lord Krishna lifted the mountain. He tells villagers to worship nature rather than worshipping Lord Indra for rain. With joy and full enthusiasm, people celebrate Govardhan Puja all over India. This festival is mainly followed in Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab, Mathura, Vrindavan, and Bihar.
