Royal Enfield has a collection of new bikes arriving in years to come. Most of them, like the new generation Classic 350, is currently in the testing process. Towards the end of this year, the Chennai-based bikemaker will also be offering the Interceptor and Continental GT 650 twins a mid-life update. The color descriptions of the 2021 Royal Enfield Interceptor and Continental GT 650 were published on the web prior to their official arrival.
As per the leaked details, four new color options will be available for the 2021 Royal Enfield Interceptor 650: Ventura Blue, Giltter & Dust, Royal Red, and Orange Crush, along with Baker Express and Orange Crush. In addition to Cookies and Cream and Venture Black and Blue, the revised Continental GT 650 will come in three new colors: British Racing Lean, GT Red, and Mr. Clean.
The latest RE Interceptor 650 and Continental GT 650 will also witness some style changes in addition to the new painting schemes. Both bikes are likely to receive the newly released Tripper Navigation in the RE Meteor 350. It shows turn-by-turn navigation through data from Google maps.
No improvements to their engines are likely to be made. A 648cc, air-cooled parallel-twin engine coupled with a 6-speed gearbox with a slipper clutch will be used for the 2021 Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 and Continental GT 650. Peak power of 47bhp at 7150rpm and 52Nm of torque at 5250rpm is driven out by the engine.
The Interceptor 650 will continue to deliver 13.4 liters of fuel tank capacity and the Continental GT 650 will have 12.5 liters of fuel tank capacity. Both models’ ground clearance will remain similar, i.e. 174mm. The Continental GT 650 cafe racer is marginally lighter, weighing 198kg, while the Interceptor 650 retro roadster bears a dry weight of 202kg.
