The Mercedes-Benz EQS mentioned on the Indian website ahead of its launch

Earlier this month, the all-new Mercedes-Benz EQS made its global debut. Interestingly, the electric sedan is now classified on the official website as ‘Coming Soon,’ implying that it will be released in India this year. The electric vehicle’s concept page has also disclosed some key information and specifications ahead of its launch. It will be the Stuttgart-based luxury carmaker’s second all-electric vehicle, following the EQC electric SUV that debuted last year.

  • The luxury electric sedan will be available in two trim levels, according to the official website: EQS 450+ and EQS 580 4MATIC.
  • The EQS 450+ is the entry-level model, with a single electric motor on the rear axle producing 328 horsepower and 568 Nm of peak torque.
  • The EQS 580 4MATIC is the top-of-the-line all-wheel-drive (AWD) trim with electric motors on both the front and rear axles.
  • The combined performance is 516 bhp and 855 Nm of peak torque, resulting in a 4.1-second sprint to 100 kmph from a standstill.

The electric sedan S-Class is based on Mercedes-EQS Benz’s Vision model, which was unveiled in 2019. It will be the highest-ranking model in Mercedes-EQ Benz’s lineup, which currently includes the EQC, EQA, an EQB.

The electric sedan has many of the S-aesthetic Class’s features, including LED headlamps with integrated LED DRLs and LED taillights, all of which are connected by an LED strip.

The new MBUX Hyperscreen, which is basically a large glass dashboard containing three individual information screens – an instrument cluster, a center infotainment system, and an auxiliary passenger-side touchscreen – is featured on the inside.

On a maximum charge, the Mercedes-Benz EQS has a 107.8 kWh Lithium-Ion battery that promises a 770 km WLTP cycle-certified driving range. The carmaker, on the other hand, has not offered comprehensive range options for each variant.

The car comes with an 11 kW onboard charger as standard, with a 22 kW charger available as an option. A 110 kW DC quick charger will charge the EQS from 10% to 80% in 35 minutes, while a 240-volt household wall charger would take 11 hours for the same range.
