• Sri Lankan All rounder Player Thisara Perara retires from international Cricket. and he announced this on Monday 3rd May.
• The 32 years old player, submitted a letter to the Sri Lankan Team on Monday morning intended to take requirements from the international cricket career after having spent 12 years in this field.
• Thisara  Perera is featured in six Tests, 166 ODIs, and 84 T20Is. He tasted the most accomplishment in the ODI cricket, scoring 2338 runs and scalping175 wickets.

• He also won the T20 World cup with Sri Lanka in 2014. And thus, he played his last match in march 2021.
• Perera made his debut for Sri Lanka in an ODI against India in Kolkata in December 2009. Since then, he has been a white-ball regular for Sri Lanka. He scored 2338 runs and picked up 175 wickets in ODIs. In T20Is, he scored 1204 runs and took 51 wickets.

• “I take pride in the fact that I was able to represent Sri Lanka in seven cricket World Cups, and be a contributing member of the 2014 T20 World Cup win against India in Bangladesh,” Perera said in a statement.
• “Thisara was a brilliant all-rounder, who has contributed immensely as a player to Sri Lanka Cricket and played a part in some of the glorious cricketing moments of the country,” said SLC CEO Ashley De Silva.
