Sheetla Saptami is Mainly celebrated in the northern states of India, This day honors the female power of Saptami Shakti and her avatar, the goddess Sheetla.

Sheetla Saptami festival is usually celebrated after Holi on the Krishna Paksha Ashtami. Traditionally, people according to a belief eat stale food cooked a day before this day.

Sheetala Saptami: Date and Timings-

• Sheetala Saptami is celebrated on Krishna Paksha Saptami Tithi of Chaitra maas.
• This year, it will fall on April 3. Saptami Tithi will start at 05:58 am on April 03 and will conclude at 04:12 am on April 04.

Sheetla Saptami Significance

• According to Skanda Purana, Goddess Shitala is an Avtar of Goddess Durga and mother Parvati.
• However, The deities symbolize the healing power of nature and therefore devotees worship.
• Worship the goddess Shitala to stay safe and protected from diseases such as chickenpox and smallpox.
• Sheetla means coolness or calm.
