As per the new rule of EPFO, every PF account holder should have linked it with Aadhar card from June 1.
The new rules from EPFO, kicked in today, on Aadhar-PF linking. If the PF account holders fail to comply with the new rules, they will have to face a major effect on their EPF contribution.
The new EPFO rules state that every account holder should have his/her pf account linked to their respective Aadhar card by June 1. Hence, it becomes the responsibility of every employer to ask their employees to verify their pf accounts. In case of any account holder fails to do so, then they may face big financial issues. One such issue is that the employer’s contribution to the pf account may be stopped. EPFO also releases notifications regarding this.
The new rules come under section 142 of the social security code 2020. The concerned body has clearly directed the employers that from June 1, if the pf account is not linked to Aadhar card or UAN is not Aadhar verified, then its electronic challan cum return will not be filled.
Though, the employees will remain the owner of the pf account and will see their contribution, but won’t be able to receive the employer’s share.
And you are done
