The opposition party Congress lashed out at the Modi Government in a conference held by them. On Monday morning, the opposition party started briefing with two LPG cylinders on the table. The non-subsidized units LPG cylinder have seen price hikes four times in just three months of time.
On February 4, the price was increased by Rs 25, and from February 15 they hiked rs.50 more. In just 10 days of time, the LPG (Liquid Petroleum Gas) has been increased by Rs 75. This news is more devastating as it is followed up by a petrol and diesel price hike.

“Not only this, since December 2020 the price has increased by ₹ 175… in 2 months… you will remember there were two increases of ₹ 50,” she added, “This cylinder (gesturing to one on the table) which sold in Delhi for ₹ 594 in December, today sells for ₹ 769.”
Presently, the center subsidizes the purchase of 12 cylinders of 14.2 kg each per household every year. The customer has to make any additional purchases of LPG cylinders at the market price.
The Congress demands, Ms. Shrinate said, that the center roll back the price hikes and the increase in excise duty, which was imposed earlier this month during the union budget presentation.
