The chief minister of West Bengal Mamta Banerjee has virtually launched the scheme‘’ MAA’’ under which the government will provide the daily meals at the nominal cost of Rs 5/- only, mainly to the poor people. As ahead of the assembly elections in the state itself.
The government will give a platter of rice, dal, A vegetable and egg curry for rupees 5/- only. She said that the self-help group kitchens will be operating from 1 pm to 3 pm every day. And gradually they’ll set up more kitchens all across the state. She added ‘’ I will go and taste it one day’’. Although the food will be served based on a first come- first serve basis.
The state government has allotted the Rs 100 crores for the scheme, said Mamta Banerjee from Trinamool Congress supremo. He emphasised that this is a great idea, we had announced this scheme under the budget for this year and managed to launch it within eight days. Apart from these the state assembly elections are due in the upcoming months of April- May. thus, the state government will bear the subsidy of 15 rupees itself.
