On day nine, Maa Siddhidhatri form of Durga is worshipped. Navratri is one of the most special Hindu festivals and is celebrated for 9 days.

Ram Navami falls on the ninth day of Navratri and is celebrated on the Shukla Paksha of the Chaitra month according to the Hindu Calendar. Also, The Navami Tithi (ninth day), Chaitra, Shukla Paksha (waxing phase of the Moon) marks the birth anniversary of Shri Rama.

Navratri Day 9: Maa Siddhidhatri Significance

• Maa Siddhidhatri is the 9th incarnation of Mother Durga, worshipped on the 9th day of Navratri. Siddhi means “meditative ability” and Dhatri means “giver”.
• Thus she is the Goddess of accomplishment, who bestows perfection (siddhis) on her devotees.
• She is the Goddess of Siddhi who blesses her devotees with wisdom and knowledge.
• She is a symbol of perfection and helps his devotees achieve perfection, happiness, and purity of heart.
• Half of the body of Lord Shiva belongs to Goddess Siddhidatri and is thus called Ardhanarishvara.

Navratri Day 9: Navmi Puja Vidhi

• Begin the puja by invoking Lord Ganesha (Vighnaharta) and seek his blessings for a hurdle-free Navratri vrat.
• After that Kanya Pujan is done on the 9th day (Navmi) like Asthami.
• 9 young girls are worshipped as Navdurga. Their feet are washed and their foreheads are adorned with tilak.
• They are gifted with presents and money and they are lovingly served with puris, halwa, black chana, etc.

• According to a legend associated with this form of the Mother Goddess, Lord Shiva worshipped Siddhidatri.
• It is said that she is the manifestation of the formless Adishakti, who bestowed Siddhi on Mahadev.
