In many countries, the worker’s day or labour’s day is considered to be as a public holiday for the citizens. This day is beginning to be celebrated across the world after the incident happened on May 4, 1886, in Chicago.
That incident is popularly known as the “Haymarket affair” was a general affair where people used to work an eight-hour shift. Which the police were trying to disperse. Even though suddenly a person throw a bomb at some members of the police. Therefore, in response to this, the police charged an opening fire at the crowd and killed the four people.

In India, the labour days was started in Chennai by the year 1923 in Hindustan’s labour Kisan party. This day was started to give people a national holiday on May 1. Labour day or workers day is also known as Maharashtra day or Gujarat’s day. On this day in 1960, two states were attained statehood after Bombay had divided into linguistic lines.
