Afganistan received COVIDSHIELD vaccine boxes on Sunday donated by the Government of India. 

On Sunday over half a million vaccines were hand over to Afghanistan as a gift to officials of Afgan, and a compassionate gesture was described by Afghanistan for the good cooperation and generosity of New Delhi with Kabul. 

On the consignment of donation of covid-19 vaccine from India to the people of Afghanistan, the Indian embassy in Kabul tweeted”

India’s charge d’Affairs Raghuram S handed over the consignment of covid vaccine to Wahid Majrooh, acting minister of public health, it said. 

In a short statement, the Afghan Foreign Ministry conveyed its genuinity and gratitude for the relief and first shipment of covid vaccine by Afghanistan’s generous supporter and strategic partner, India.”

The generous help to overcome the hazardous circumstances of covid spread in Afghanistan, India has shown its republic attitude with the people of Afgan, it is said in the statement.

As to expand the cooperation between the two countries, the initiative has taken on earlier January 8, on a telephone call between jaishankar and Atmar.

The president also has shown his truthful gratitude for the government of India and their relief assistance for about a million vaccine doses, the presidential palace said in the tweet.”

In the first dawn, the covid will be administered to the front line health workers, defense forces, and other health workers, that have been staying ahead during the pandemic.

The patient with heart diseases, blood pressure, and diabetes will be getting the vaccine from this batch, but in the second phase, Majrooh said, the acting minister of public health, that the senior citizens and patients with chronic diseases will be inoculated later.

 

India is one of the topmost countries with abundant pharmaceutical services and, numerous countries have been approaching it for the procuration of the covid vaccine.
