Hyundai provides oxygen to those who are most in need during COVID-19

The Hyundai Motor India Foundation (HMIF), Hyundai Motor India’s philanthropic arm, announced on Wednesday that its CSR project “Back-to-Life” will begin this week, ensuring uninterrupted distribution of lifesaving medicare oxygen equipment to the most affected Covid-19 states, including New Delhi, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Haryana, and Telangana.

HMIF has expedited the procurement and supply of essential medical equipment as part of its Hyundai Cares 3.0 Covid-19 relief programme, ensuring a fast turnaround in assisting government hospitals with lifesaving medicare oxygen equipment such as oxygen concentrators (700), high flow oxygen (HFO) plants (10), high flow nasal oxygen (HFNO) machines (200), and BiPap ventilator machines (225).

  • “The current crisis affects every one of us,” said SS Kim, MD and CEO of Hyundai Motor India. “We are all in this together as a group, as a country, and as humanity. Our thoughts and prayers have been with the affected families since the beginning of the second wave, and our acts have echoed these feelings. We are doing everything in our power to provide urgent relief to help societies and communities weather this crisis.”
  • HMIF has launched a number of programmes aimed at providing long-term assistance to individuals and governments. Hyundai will assist hospitals that have been identified by the government in the installation of oxygen generation plants. This will help vital patients right away, as well as help hospitals become oxygen self-sufficient in the long run. Hyundai will also donate medical consumables to different hospitals’ employees.
  • Hyundai has launched a number of programmes and projects to assist societies and communities in managing the Covid-19 pandemic, which is expected to begin in 2020. While the HMIF has announced a Rs 20 crore relief package to tackle the ongoing second wave of the pandemic, it had previously pledged Rs 30 crore to help affected states and communities cope with the current adversities.
