After facing the second wave of the corona, the number of infection cases in Delhi has just started decreasing that cases of negligence have also started coming to the fore. On Monday, the Delhi government took strict action against it and closed the famous Janpath market.

• The order states that Janpath Market is closed till further orders due to non-compliance with Corona rules and violation of orders of Delhi Disaster Management Authority.
• In the order, the Delhi government said that the Director (Enforcement) of the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) and the station in charge of Connaught Place are directed to get the order implemented with immediate effect and submit a compliance report.
• It is known that due to the second wave of the coronavirus, there was a lockdown in Delhi from April 19 to May 30.
• The markets were allowed to open from June 7 as part of the Delhi government’s phased process of reopening Delhi.

The DDMA had in recent weeks closed the markets of Lajpat Nagar, Laxmi Nagar, Kamla Nagar, Sarojini Nagar, and parts of the markets of Sadar Bazar and Karol Bagh in recent weeks in violation of COVID-19 related norms.
