Corn consumption is very beneficial for diabetic patients. Experts say that the phytates, tannins, and polyphenols found in it slow down the digestion process, which helps in lowering blood sugar levels.

Corn is also considered beneficial in gas and kidney problems. Apart from this, since it is low in calories and high in fiber, it is also very effective in reducing weight. However, experts say that middle-aged and elderly people should consume it in limited quantities.

Beneficial in Pregnancy

Pregnant women can include corn in their diet. It is beneficial for both mother and child. It contains folic acid. However, constipation is a common problem during pregnancy. To get rid of this problem, you can include it in your diet. But, do take the advice of a doctor once.
