Delhi night curfew: from today, Delhi will have a night curfew from 10 pm to 5 am till the end of April, as on Monday, 3,548 new cases were reported with 15 deaths. A compulsion felt to stop such contagious spread.
Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal had on Friday said Delhi was going through the fourth wave of COVID-19 but a lockdown was not being considered yet.
“As per the current situation, we are not considering imposing a lockdown. We are closely monitoring the situation and such a decision will only be taken after due public consultation,” he had told reporters.
Officials said, during night curfew hours, no traffic movement would stop and those going for vacations will be allowed with an e-pass.

Though, the transport for essential services, grocery stocks, milk, vegetables, and medicines will be allowed with those e-passes. The retailer and workers who travel for ration and other essential services the whole night will be getting benefits. Similarly, the telecommunication and print media will have.
The medical staff will be allowed with identity cards.
The night curfew was being enforced to check the movement of people, not essential services, the Delhi government said in its order.
Maharashtra and Rajasthan have already taken the step of night curfew amid the uncontrollable conditions of covid-19. India has crossed one lakh cases on Monday, which was the highest till now.
