The highest number of Corona cases recorded

The total number of cases in India is now 1,28,01,785, with 8,43,473 active cases and 1,17,92,135 people who have recovered from the virus. On Tuesday, at least 630 people died, bringing the total death toll in the world to 1,66,177. Maharashtra accounted for nearly half of the deaths (297) on Tuesday. Other states with high death tolls included Punjab, Chhattisgarh, Uttar Pradesh, and Karnataka.

On Tuesday, India set a new record for the most vaccinations issued in a single day: 43,00,966. So far, 8,70,77,474 people have been vaccinated.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi urged people to concentrate on battling Covid-19 by taking all necessary precautions on World Health Day on Wednesday. He also said that it was a day to express gratitude and appreciation to those who work to keep our planet safe, as well as to reaffirm our dedication to healthcare research and innovation.

The Delhi High Court ruled on Wednesday that wearing a mask or face cover in a vehicle is required, even when traveling alone. Justice Prathiba M Singh ruled that a car traveling through the city is a public location and that people in personal or official vehicles must wear masks to prevent Covid-19 from spreading.

Wearing a mask in a vehicle is compulsory in Delhi

“A vehicle even if occupied by one person would constitute a public place and wearing a mask therein would be compulsory. The wearing of a mask or a face cover in a vehicle which may be occupied by either a single person or multiple persons is thus held to be compulsory,” said the court.

Last year, four petitions were filed in court challenging the enforcement of a Rs 500 fine on anyone who did not wear face masks while traveling alone in a private vehicle.

According to Maharashtra Health Minister Rajesh Tope: the state is running out of vaccine doses at various vaccination centers, forcing people to return due to shortages. He said there was enough stock for the next three days or more than 13 lakh doses, but that some districts would run out sooner.

Tope also reported that the state has petitioned the Centre to allow people aged 20 to 40 to be vaccinated first. In addition, he claimed that the state is working to increase the number of beds in Pune, Mumbai, Nashik, and other areas of the state in response to the increase in cases.
