Air Force Plane returned Home from Afghanistan carrying Indian Officials

Amidst the ongoing violent situation in Afghanistan, the Indian Air Force aircraft, which left Kabul with Indian officials, has landed in Jamnagar, Gujarat. Sources have informed the news agency ANI about this.

Earlier, sources had told that the government is planning to evacuate the Indian nationals trapped in Afghanistan. Sources had said that the IAF’s C-17 Globemaster aircraft took off from Kabul with over 120 Indian officers.

Indian officials were taken to safer areas of Kabul Airport on Monday evening. Here they were waiting for the aircraft of the Indian Air Force. There are still many Indian citizens present in Afghanistan, who are looking forward to returning home. At present, they are in safe places away from the areas of violence.

It is believed that within a day or so, they will also return home. The government can send a special aircraft for this. At the same time, the government has not yet given information about the number of citizens trapped in Afghanistan. The reason behind this is security reasons.

  • Sources have told that these planes are yet to make several rounds of Kabul. In this way once again the Indian Air Force is proving to be a savior for the Indians.
  • The Indian government has already said that it will protect its citizens amidst the deteriorating situation in Afghanistan.
  • Foreign Ministry spokesman Arindam Bagchi said that the Ministry of External Affairs has set up a special ‘Afghanistan Cell’ for the return of Indian nationals from Afghanistan to India, among other matters. Violence to end immediately in Afghanistan

  • At the same time, Ambassador TS Tirumurti, India’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations and President of the Security Council (UNSC), said that the United Nations Security Council members on Monday stressed the need for an immediate end to hostilities and violence in Afghanistan.
  • At the same time, he said that there must be a political settlement that fully respects the human rights of women, children, and minorities for any acceptance and legitimacy.
  • Tirumurti said UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres’ remarks at the briefing are “extremely important and need to be accepted by the members of the Council”.
