Japan’s leading automaker Honda launched the new 2021 Honda Amaze Facelift (Amaze) sub-compact sedan in the Indian market on Wednesday. The ex-showroom price of the new generation Honda Amaze starts at Rs 6.32 Lakh, which goes up to Rs 11.15 Lakh for the top model. In comparison, the outgoing model of Amaze has priced between Rs 6.22 lakh to Rs 9.99 lakh ex-showroom in Delhi.
Note: The new Honda Amaze is offered in three variants, which include E, S, VX trims. The S and VX variants in petrol will come with CVT automatic gearbox. The diesel CVT engine will be available only in the VX trim.
As far as the changes are concerned, the 2021 Honda Amaze facelift now gets a facelift with a redesigned grille. It has now replaced the thick chrome with a thinner chrome one.
New chrome slats connect the headlamps and the two sleek slats at the bottom. The car’s front face remains flat and sharp while the air intake and front bumper look more sculpted than before.
The new generation Amaze sub-compact sedan comes with advanced LED projector headlamps with integrated LED Daytime Running Lights (DRLs). It adds to the premium look of the sedan.
It also gets a new set of newly designed 15-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels and chrome finishing on the door handles. The rear of the new Amaze gets some more chrome garnishes, C-shaped LED taillights, and reflectors on the bumpers.
Changes have also been made to the interior of the 2021 Honda Amaze facelift. It now gets an updated cabin with some design changes like a black and beige color theme, satin silver accents on the dashboard.
To make the new Amaze more luxurious and comfortable, it has been given DigiPad 2.0 – 17.7 cm touchscreen advanced display audio system, which supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Along with this, many advanced features like Bluetooth and advanced wireless infrared remote have been provided for voice commands, messages, handsfree telephone, and audio streaming support.
In addition, the rear camera display can now show different types of views like Normal View, Wide View, and Top-Down View for ease of parking in tight spaces. It also gets features like push-button start-stop, automatic climate control, and more.
The new Amaze is equipped with advanced features for added safety. It offers Honda’s full range of active and passive safety technologies available as standard across all variants.
Apart from this, Honda’s own ACE body structure, standard dual SRS airbags for driver and front passenger, standard anti-lock brake system (ABS) with electronic brake distribution (EBD), standard ISOFIX seats, ECU immobilizer system, with guidelines.
New rear multi-view camera, New automatic headlight control with light sensor, driver side window one-touch up/down with pinch guard, rear parking sensors, front headrest to reduce the impact of shock and injury protection technology for pedestrians.
The 2021 Honda Amaze facelift will be offered with 1.2-litre i-VTEC petrol and 1.5-liter i-DTEC diesel engine options as before. The petrol engine produces 90 PS of maximum power and 110Nm of peak torque and is mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox or a CVT automatic gearbox.
At the same time, the diesel engine generates 100 PS of maximum power and 200 Nm of peak torque with a 5-speed manual gearbox, and 80 PS of maximum power, and 160 Nm of peak torque with a CVT automatic gearbox.
The 2021 Honda Amaze facelift will be available in five exterior color options. These include Meteoroid Gray (new color), Radiant Red Metallic, Platinum White Pearl, Lunar Silver Metallic, and Golden Brown Metallic. The 2021 Honda Amaze facelift will compete with rivals like Maruti Suzuki Dzire, Hyundai Aura, Tata Tigor among others.
HCIL will start deliveries of the new Amaze from the HCIL dealer network across the country soon after the launch. Customers can book and buy the new Amaze online from the comfort of their homes through Honda’s online sales platform ‘Honda From Home’.
The new Honda Amaze offers peace of mind to the customer with 3 years unlimited km warranty as a standard benefit. Additionally, customers can also opt for an additional two years of Unlimited Kilometers Extended Warranty and best in their segment 10 years Any Time Warranty for added peace of mind. The car offers a low cost of maintenance with a service interval of 1 year / 10,000 km.
The first generation Honda Amaze was launched in India in April 2013 followed by its second generation in May 2018. Amaze has been a hugely successful model in India and the car has gained a strong presence and popularity as a modern family sedan in Tier 2 and 3 markets.
68 percent of the sales of this car come from these cities. With the increasing popularity of automatic transmission models among the customers, automatics models also account for more than 20 percent of the Amaze. As the entry model in Honda’s line-up, this car has come true.
About 40 percent of its customers are first-time buyers. This is because the Amaze offers the same features like a bigger sedan. At the same time, Honda’s sturdiness, quality, reliability, and low maintenance cost provide peace of mind.
