According to a statement from PMO, PM Modi has taken the first shot of the covid-19 vaccine at AIIMS hospital in New Delhi. He urged every eligible person to take the covid-19 vaccine to get rid of the new strain of coronavirus in the country. India is willing to expand the vaccination drive.

 Therefore, Prime minister Narendra Modi tweeted a photo of himself after receiving a dose of (COVAXIN) homegrown Coronavirus vaccine. The vaccine was developed by Bharat biotech and the Indian council of medical research( ICMR).

“Remarkable how our doctors and scientists have worked in quick time to strengthen the global fight against COVID-19,” PM Modi tweeted above all. 

 however, He appeals to people over 45 and 60 to take the vaccine. ‘’ Together, let us make India covid – 19  free,’’ he said.   The prime minister was wearing a scarf, which is a symbol of blessing from the women of Assam. 

 The 70-year-old  PM Modi has taken the first shot of the Covid -19 vaccine in AIIMS to avoid any inconvenience among the people.

India has reported the second-highest number of cases after the United States at 1.1 crores. Cases have spiked in recent days in states like Maharashtra, Kerala, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, and Punjab.

In addition, The government hopes to vaccinate 30 crore people by august in this second phase.
